Mind Your Curls Girl!

Girls who have curls are the ones you gotta keep an eye on! Curls...I’d like to describe them as absolutely gorgeous and vibrantly mysterious! In a world full of permanent straightening; be that girl who rocks her curls!

Having curly hair is super pretty and lucky, but taking care of these pretty locks is equally a task and the ones with curly hair would know what we mean.

How to style naturally curly hair?

What products for curly hair are good?

If your Google search has these questions & since we love your curly tales so much, we have you kitted you out with all the hair care tips you would ever need!

Begin with the basics – curly hair wash routine

Untamed curly hair could be a disaster and you might just end up scaring that cute kid on the bus. No, you wouldn’t want that at all. Curly hair unlike other textures, need to be conditioned and kept well hydrated at all times. So, your first and foremost hair care tip would be, never ever miss out on oiling your hair. You’ll need your oil champi & massage beforehand every time you shampoo. And post shampoo, make sure you use a serum or a little oil and run it through your hair to bring back some of the moisture lost due to products.

To keep you curls pretty, don’t comb your hair right after shampoo, comb it while it’s a little damp and leave it to dry. Use a wide-toothed comb, enough to detangle but not to break strands. Once it’s dry, take a little serum or hair oil in your palms and run it through your hair and set your curls the way you want and Voila! Your pretty curls are ready to rock.

DIY hair masks for curly hair

Like mentioned earlier your curls need hydration and moisture 24x7! Sometimes only oiling and shampoo isn’t enough and your curls would need some extra pampering every so often. For this, have the perfect DIY mask for you.

Coconut yogurt mask

Take one cup of coconut yogurt (available in the market) and 1 teaspoon of olive oil, add one capsule of Vitamin E and lastly ½ cup of fresh aloe vera pulp. Mix all the ingredients well and apply it on your scalp and up to your tips. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and wash off with cold water. Follow up with your shampoo and conditioner. Your hair will surely be happy after this.

Banana hair mask

This mask will kick away all the frizzy and unmanageable hair strands & leave them glossy & bouncy. Take one ripe banana and blend it. Place in a bowl, add in 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and one teaspoon of olive oil. Mix the ingredients well and apply it evenly all over your hair scalp. Leave it on 20 minutes and wash off with cold water. Follow it up with your shampoo and conditioner.

The right accessories – Tied up or let loose?

Now that you’re sorted with all the products and DIY secrets, let’s get on to the right accessories. Make sure that you choose a broad comb. Broad combs are absolutely essentials for curls, as it detangles easily and maintains the texture of your curls. In case you’re using a narrow comb, your curls will be ruined and you’ll end having frizzy looking hair no matter how hydrated and moisturised they really are. It will also take you a long, painful time to get your hair to behave & be tamed.

Avoid using hair ties, instead opt for clutch clips and satin scrunchies. These work really well for curly hair, preventing breakage & split ends and they also look pretty amazing!

It’s time for them curls to get flaunted!
